GTA 6 Map: Vice City & the State of Leonida

Guide · Updated June 2026

GTA 6's world is built around Leonida, a fictional US state modeled on Florida, with the neon-soaked Vice City at its heart. Rockstar's trailers and official materials have given us a clear picture of the major regions, even if the full map and its exact scale won't be confirmed until launch. Here's a tour of what's been shown so far.

Vice City

The series' Miami stand-in returns, modernized for the present day. Vice City is the dense urban core of the map — beaches, nightlife, high-rises and sprawl — and it's where much of the action and the densest cluster of activities will be. It's the spiritual successor to the 2002 Vice City, reimagined with everything Rockstar has learned about building living cities since.

The wider state of Leonida

What makes this map different is how much sits outside the city. Confirmed regions include:

That mix of dense city, wetlands, islands, small towns and wilderness suggests a map with a lot of variety in terrain and tone — sunny tourist strips one moment, isolated backcountry the next.

How big is the map?

Rockstar hasn't released official size figures. Based on what the trailers have shown and early reporting, the consensus expectation is that Leonida is meaningfully larger than GTA V's map, with a high number of enterable interiors adding density on top of raw size. Specific numbers circulate online, but until Rockstar confirms them, they're best treated as estimates rather than facts.

Why the map matters for your playthrough

A bigger, more varied map means collectibles, businesses and activities will be spread across very different regions — which makes knowing the territory a real advantage. Whether you're hunting collectibles for 100% or scouting where to set up your operations, an interactive map turns that sprawl from intimidating into manageable.

Our interactive Leonida map goes live as soon as the world is explorable.
